Who we are

The Pest Rangers is a family-owned pest control company founded in 2008 and headquartered at 2601 S. Main St., Hanover Township, PA 18706. We serve Northeast Pennsylvania, the Poconos, the Lehigh Valley, Southeast Pennsylvania, and South New Jersey from the offices listed on our contact page. We are the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy, meaning we decide how and why we use it.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you request a quote, schedule an inspection, call or text us, use our chat feature, create a customer portal account, apply for financing, leave a review, or apply for a job, you may give us information such as your name, service address, mailing address, email address, phone number, the type of property you own or manage, details about your pest problem, photos you choose to send, gate codes or access instructions, and any other details you include in a message. If you pay us, our payment processor collects your card or bank details. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our systems and the tools we use collect technical information such as your IP address, approximate location based on IP, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, how long you stay, the links you click, the website that referred you, and the search terms or ad that brought you here. Some of our tools record how you move your mouse, scroll, and tap on our pages so we can see where the site is confusing. If you call a phone number displayed on our website, our call tracking service records the number you called, your phone number, the date, time, and length of the call, and, with notice, the content of the call.

Information from other sources

We may receive information about you from our scheduling and customer management software, our financing partner (for example, whether an application was approved, but not your credit details), review platforms, real estate agents or property managers who arrange service on your behalf, and public sources such as county property records when we need to confirm a service address.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to provide quotes and estimates, schedule and perform pest control services, send appointment reminders and service reports, process payments and financing, respond to your questions and requests, provide warranty and guarantee service, send you information about services, seasonal pest alerts, and promotions (with the ability to opt out), improve our website and customer experience, measure how well our advertising works, detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and click fraud on our ads, protect the safety of our technicians and customers, comply with the law, and enforce our agreements.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, adjust your ad settings at adssettings.google.com and at Microsoft’s ad settings page, and block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to stop working.

Phone calls, call recording, and call tracking

Phone numbers shown on our website are provided through a call tracking service so we can tell which advertising brought you to us. Calls to those numbers may be recorded and transcribed for quality assurance, training, and to keep an accurate record of your service request. Pennsylvania law requires the consent of everyone on a call before it is recorded, so you will hear a notice at the start of the call. If you do not want to be recorded, tell us at the start of the call and we will continue without recording, or you can reach us by email or through our contact form.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may send appointment confirmations and reminders, technician arrival notices, service reports, payment reminders, and, if you separately opt in, promotional messages about our services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel and HELP for help. You can also call 570-826-1114 to opt out. We use a text messaging service provider to deliver these messages. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except for the vendors that deliver messages on our behalf.

Chat and virtual assistant

Our website may offer a chat or voice assistant. Conversations are stored so that our team can follow up on your request and so we can improve the assistant. Please do not share payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information in chat. If you prefer to speak with a person, call any of the numbers on our contact page.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money and we do not rent our customer list. We share information in these situations.

  • With service providers who work on our behalf, including our scheduling and customer management software, our customer payment portal (Clypboard), our online quote and scheduling forms (Typeform), our financing partner (Wisetack), our text messaging and call tracking providers, our email service, our website hosting and performance providers, and our analytics and advertising vendors named above. These companies may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • With our technicians and field staff so they can perform the work you requested.
  • With property owners, property managers, landlords, real estate agents, or other parties who arranged or are paying for service at a property, to the extent needed to complete that service. If you are a tenant, we share only what is needed to schedule and complete the work.
  • With advertising and analytics companies, as described in the cookies section, which some laws treat as sharing for targeted advertising. You can opt out.
  • When required by law, such as a subpoena, court order, or a request from a government or regulatory agency, including the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture or the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, which regulate pesticide use and may require records of treatments.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of The Pest Rangers, our employees, our customers, or others.
  • If The Pest Rangers is sold, merged, or reorganized, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who will remain bound by this policy until it is updated.

Payments and financing

Payments made through our customer portal are processed by Clypboard and its payment processor. Financing applications are handled by Wisetack, which collects the information needed to make a lending decision under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payments and financing approvals, but we do not see or store your full card number, bank account number, or credit report.

Reviews and testimonials

If you leave a review on Google, Facebook, or another platform, that platform’s privacy policy governs what you post. With your permission, we may display your review, first name, and town on our website and in our advertising. Contact us if you would like a review removed from our site.

How long we keep your information

We keep customer records, including service history and treatment records, for as long as you are a customer and afterward for the period required by pesticide recordkeeping laws in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and by our accounting and warranty obligations, which is generally [seven] years. Website analytics data is kept for [14 months] in Google Analytics and [365 days] in Hotjar. Call recordings are kept for [12 months]. Chat transcripts are kept for [12 months]. Quote requests that do not become customers are deleted or anonymized after [24 months]. We may keep information longer if we need it to resolve a dispute or comply with the law.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our website, access controls that limit who at our company can see customer data, and vendors that maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as required by Pennsylvania and New Jersey breach notification laws.
